In the road accident, 16 fractures on the face, tongue divided into two pieces, torn lips and broken skull were reunited by doctors after hours of surgery. The condition of the patient is now stable. In fact, after the road accident, 20-year-old Sameer was taken to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for treatment.

Senior Dr. Bhim Singh Nanda, Department of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery of the hospital said that the patient was brought to the hospital in a critical condition after the bike accident. In this accident, there was a serious injury to the head and jaws. There were fractures in about 16 major bones in the face and head, along with dislocation of the jaw joint. The bones of the mouth were shattered. The tongue was cut in two pieces. Seeing the condition of the patient, a joint team of 10 doctors was formed. An artificial respiration tube was inserted as a life-saving measure to revive the patient immediately. After the patient was stabilized, treatment was started immediately by multiple scans to ascertain the location of the injuries.

Dr. Nanda said that all the fractures were repaired without any additional cuts on the facial skin of the patient brought for surgery. Six plates and two dozen screws were used in this surgical procedure. Then her tongue and all other soft tissue injuries including the lower and upper lip, nose and eyelids were repaired. The condition of the patient is stable and he will be discharged soon.
