Miscreants attacked a Delhi University student with a knife when he protested against bike robbery in Nihal Vihar area. The miscreants looted cash and mobile. The miscreants also wanted to rob the bike. On the statement of the victim student, the police have registered a case of robbery. On the basis of their appearance, the police is trying to identify the miscreants.
The injured student has been identified as Vicky Kumar (19). He lives with his family in Laxmi Park. He is pursuing graduation in distance education (School of Open Learning) from University of Delhi. Along with studies, he works as a waiter in the wedding ceremony in the evening. On Thursday night, he along with his friend Shailendra had gone to work at a wedding function in Bhaira Enclave, from where both were returning home on a bike.
Vicky said that near Saini Enclave Nangloi, three youths riding a bike stopped him by putting their bike in front of his bike. The three miscreants came to him and started taking out money and mobile from his pocket. On protesting, a miscreant took out a knife, which scared him.
The miscreants took out five thousand rupees and mobile phone from his pocket, while Shailendra himself handed over his mobile phone and two hundred and fifty rupees to the miscreants. After that, the miscreants started arguing with each other about looting the bike. A miscreant started snatching the bike, which he opposed. Enraged by this, the miscreant attacked his face with a knife and injured him.
During the attack, an e-rickshaw driver reached there, on seeing which all the miscreants fled on their bikes. Shailendra reached home with the injured Vicky. Seeing the condition of the son, father Vinod Kumar took him to the nearby hospital and informed the police about the incident. Vicky was not in a position to give statement that night. The next day the police registered a case of robbery on his statement.
