The incident of fire inside two houses has come to light in Roop Nagar and Jahangirpuri. One person died of suffocation due to fire in Roop Nagar. At the same time, in Jahangirpuri, six people of the same family got minor burns due to fire in a house. A fire also broke out in a hotel in Connaught Place, in which no one was hurt.

People injured in the fire in Jahangirpuri were admitted to the hospital. Everyone’s condition is out of danger. The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Naveen Gupta in Roop Nagar. Police sent the body to the nearest hospital for postmortem. The cause of the fire is being investigated. Initial investigation has revealed that the fire broke out due to short circuit. In the early hours of Saturday, Roop Nagar police station received information about a fire on the first floor of a house near Bank of India located in Kamla Nagar. As soon as the information was received, two fire tenders reached the spot. Firefighters brought the fire under control after a lot of effort.

Meanwhile, the firemen pulled out Naveen Gupta, who was trapped in the house in an unconscious state, and took him to Hindu Rao Hospital. Where he died during treatment. During the investigation, the police came to know that the deceased Naveen Gupta lived with the family on the first floor of this house. All the family members were sleeping at the time of the incident in the early hours. Naveen Gupta was left trapped in the room. While his son, daughter and wife Ruchi somehow got out safely. Police investigation is going on in this matter.

At the same time, at around eleven o’clock on Friday night, a fire was reported from the cylinder in the house in Jahangirpuri area. Police and fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. The fire was brought under control in no time. Later, the police found out that Mohammad Shahid Qureshi, his son Qureshi, Bilal, daughter Samim, daughter Shabnam, Shama and Nazia had sustained minor burns after coming under fire. Police say that due to the leakage of LPG cylinder, there was a sudden fire.

Youth sets himself on fire, dies

In Kalyanpuri on Friday night, a youth doused himself with petrol and set himself on fire. He was admitted to a nearby hospital, from where he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital. The young man died during treatment here. Initial investigation has revealed that the wife had left him a year ago due to family discord. He was very upset by this. Police received information on Friday night that Rahul had set fire to Khichdipur. Eyewitnesses told that Rahul was in Centro. He put some inflammable thing on himself and set himself on fire. Investigation revealed that Rahul was a driver by profession. The wife left him a year ago.
