Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal are scheduled to chair a meeting today regarding preparations for the G-20 summit. The meeting will be held at 11 am in the LG office.
India officially assumed the chairmanship of the G-20 on 1 December and the theme of the Indian chairmanship was already revealed as ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One Earth, One Family, One Future’. This Reflects India’s motto to collectively respond to the urgent global challenges facing the world.
In view of the conference, many programs are being executed by the LG office in terms of cleanliness and beautification of the city. Many roads have to be brightened under these programmes. Water resources will also be improved.
The meeting is taking place in the wake of the Prime Minister’s meeting with all Governors, Lieutenant Governors and Chief Ministers last week. The PM had urged everyone in that meeting to put in their best efforts to make the international event a success.
Earlier on 9 December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with the Governors and Chief Ministers of States and Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories through video-conferencing to discuss aspects related to India’s G-20 Chairmanship.
