After the MCD elections held in Delhi, the enthusiasm for the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor (Delhi Mayor Election) has intensified. On this occasion, the BJP sabotaged the plans of the Aam Aadmi Party. On the last day, taking a U-turn, the BJP has fielded Rekha Gupta for the post of mayor and Kamal Bagdi for the post of deputy mayor. Earlier, many BJP leaders had given indications of not contesting the mayoral election. On the other hand, only after defeating the BJP, the leaders of AAP Aadmi Party are having the fear of Operation Lotus in the mayoral elections. Actually, there are more chances of cross voting in this election. Cross voting has been happening in the elections in the past as well. This time it has to be seen how many votes cross. AAP has fielded Shaili Oberoi as its mayor candidate and Mohammad Iqbal as its deputy mayor candidate.
The BJP, which has been ruling the Corporation of Delhi for 15 years, has had to face defeat in the corporation elections this time. In the elections held for the first time in 250 wards after corporation integration, BJP got 104 seats, while AAP got 134 seats. While the Congress party won only 9 seats. After the defeat in the elections, the BJP had said not to contest the Mayor’s election in Delhi, but now the BJP has fielded its candidates spoiling the game of the Aam Aadmi Party. The BJP has made a special strategy to give a tough fight to the Aam Aadmi Party in the elections. BJP does not have the magic number of victory in MCD. In such a situation, the party has handed over the election command to two of its leaders who were strong in MCD. In which one is Vijendra Gupta and the other is Subhash Arya. MLA Vijender Gupta and Subhash Arya have been given the responsibility of deciding the strategy to win the MCD House. Subhash has held key positions in the South Delhi Municipal Corporation apart from the integrated MCD.
BJP’s own claim, AAP is afraid of Operation Lotus
On December 7, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya had tweeted about the Delhi mayor, ‘Now it is the turn to elect the mayor of Delhi. It all depends on who keeps what number in the match. Whom do the nominated councilors vote for? For example, Chandigarh has a BJP mayor. However, a few days ago, the then Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta while discussing with the media said that AAP has got majority in the MCD elections. The next mayor will be from the Aam Aadmi Party only. BJP will play the role of strong opposition in the corporation. Then he had said that we will not allow any corruption in MCD like a watchdog. Delhi should be clean and MCD should do good work, this will be our priority. But the BJP has taken a U-turn in this matter by announcing the names of the mayor and deputy mayor on Tuesday.
Here, after the MCD election results, AAP MP Sanjay Singh had said that despite BJP not getting majority in Delhi Municipal Corporation elections, it is saying that we will make mayor here, it means that it is saying that we are killing democracy. will do. The BJP is saying that the way we do horse-trading in the whole country, we will do the same in Delhi. This is a matter of theft and sinajori. A party which calls itself the biggest party in the world is thumping its chest and saying that we will do horse-trading and ‘Operation Lotus’ here, even if the public has defeated us in the elections.
This is the mayor candidate of BJP and AAP
