Subhash Mahto, who reached All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi from Motihari in Bihar to get his mother’s heart surgery done, was circling in and out near the Ayushman card office. OTP was not coming on the phone to verify the card before getting admitted.
Due to network problem in the office, the verification was done after about one and half hour. Subhash Mahato is not the only one who is worried about OTP in getting admitted under Ayushman card, thousands of patients like him are worried for OTP here every week. The problem of such patients will go away from Ayushman Bharat Health Account (Aura) in the coming days.
Actually Aura ID is being made on the eighth floor of AIIMS OPD. During this time, if a patient has an Ayushman card, then the said information will also be updated in the Aura ID. After linking the Ayushman card with the Aura ID, OTP will not be required for patient verification, rather the entire process will be completed through biometric medium (by showing thumb impression or face).
Thousands of patients come to AIIMS every year
According to the AIIMS Ayushman office, thousands of patients come to the hospital every year for treatment under the scheme. Out of these, a large number of patients come to undergo surgery in other departments including heart, bone, surgery.
