Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order Zone I) Dipendra Pathak said that mobile patrolling vehicles have been deployed at all places. Police posts have been strengthened. Mock drills have been organized by the district police to check the security of these places. Special attention has also been paid to the safety of women during the New Year party. Women police personnel in plain clothes will be deployed at crowded places. Strict action will be taken against those who molest or harass women.

The traffic police have made elaborate arrangements in view of New Year’s Eve parties being held at various places in Delhi from 8 pm to 12 midnight on New Year’s Eve. Preparations have been made to improve the traffic system. Entry of vehicles will be restricted at many places, while alternative arrangements have been made on many routes. Parking or stopping of vehicles will not be allowed on many congested markets and routes. Traffic police will be stationed at various places during the New Year’s Eve celebrations and will keep a check on those who create ruckus amid the joyous atmosphere.

Strong security arrangements at 50 places
Officials said that there are 50 such places in Delhi where there can be a crowd of people on New Year’s Eve. Elaborate security arrangements have been made there. Anti-terrorist measures have also been taken in the city so that no untoward incident takes place.
