Delhi: Three Arrested With Banned Drugs Worth Rs 15 Crore

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has busted the interstate drug syndicate and arrested three accused including a chemist. The accused were selling banned drugs illegally. Banned drugs worth Rs 15 crore have been recovered from their possession. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused have been doing this business for the last eight years and have supplied medicines worth about 250 crores during this period. The police is engaged in questioning them.

The Special Cell had received information that Kuldeep, a resident of 25 Foota Road, Prakash Vihar Loni, UP, and Rishi Kumar, a resident of Sant Nagar, Burari, are running a drug syndicate in Delhi-NCR. The team of Inspector Manendra and Havildar Deepak Rana laid siege and arrested both near Wazirabad flyover on 13th December. After questioning him, drug dealer Kuldeep Kumar Sinha was arrested from Timarpur. His godown and medicine shop were raided. A total of 2,36,080 tablets of banned Tramadol and a total of 2,23,800 tablets of Alprazolam were seized during this period.

Apart from this, 150 bottles of codeine were also recovered. Let us tell that selling these medicines without medical examination comes under the category of crime. They are banned in Delhi. The government has also fixed the limit for selling them.

Because of this, the accused were supplying them in other districts including Aligarh. During interrogation of the accused, it was found that they have been involved in this illegal business for the last eight years and have supplied medicines worth about 200 to 250 crores till now. The license of Anurag’s shop has expired.

Foreign woman arrested with cocaine
A Guinean woman has been arrested with 82 capsules of cocaine at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Customs Department said that the cost of the capsule is being reported as Rs 15.36 crore. The matter is being investigated.

Drugs worth one crore seized, four arrested
The Outer North District Police launched a special drive against drugs on Saturday. During this, the police arrested four smugglers in Narela. Police have recovered narcotics worth Rs one crore from their possession.

District Deputy Commissioner of Police Devesh Kumar Mahla said that a special search operation against drugs was launched on Saturday. Special teams were constituted for this. These teams, on the basis of their intelligence, launched a massive search operation in Narela area. During this the police team arrested 4 smugglers. 645 grams of heroin and 5 kg of ganja have been recovered from their possession. Its cost is more than one crore rupees.

The drive was led by Raja Banthia, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, District. The arrested accused have been identified as Sonia, Sonu, Rahima Khatoon and Yasmin, residents of Narela Sector 6. Police have registered 18 cases against liquor smugglers. The police have recovered 2383 pavva of illicit liquor and 83 beer from the accused.
