Delhi: Two Girl Students Died In A Car Crash

Two girl students of Class IX died after being hit by Swift in Peeragarhi on Sunday evening. Both were going to study tuition. While crossing the road, the car hit both of them. The driver was caught and thrashed by the people and handed over to the police. The police have registered a case of negligent driving.

According to the police, the girl students were identified as Vanshika (14) and Manvi (14). Both lived in the slums of Udyog Nagar and studied in Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya. Sultanpuri resident Ravi Saxena told that both the girls were crossing the road near Peeragarhi’s Honda showroom. During this, the car coming from Nangloi side hit both of them hard.

One student jumped and fell on the bonnet of the car breaking the glass and fell inside, while the other fell away. As soon as the accident happened, a huge crowd gathered there and people caught hold of the car driver and thrashed him, while both the girl students were admitted to the hospital, from where the relatives took both the girl students to Balaji Hospital. Manvi died here on Sunday night, while Vanshika also died on Monday afternoon.

On the other hand, the police took the driver Arun, a resident of Adhyapak Nagar, into custody. After the accident, people raised slogans demanding construction of a footover bridge. The police pacified the people by convincing them and arrested Arun. Arun supplies equipment to hospitals.

Bike riding youth died in Jagatpuri, another injured
In Jagatpuri, two youths riding a bike fell victim to an accident late on Monday night. Passengers informed the matter to the police. Police reached the spot and took the injured youths to the nearby Hedgewar Hospital, where doctors declared Jatin Babbar (23), a resident of Geeta Colony, dead, while Arvind (26), a resident of Noida, was referred to GTB Hospital in critical condition. Someone hit the bike of both of them or both themselves became victims of the accident, the police is probing it.

Jatin lived with the family in Geeta Colony area. His family consists of mother and younger brother. Jatin’s father committed suicide about a year ago. Since then, Jatin was the sole breadwinner in the house. Younger brother is still studying in school. Jatin used to do a private job in a company in Noida. On Monday, he was returning home with his friend Arvind, a resident of Noida. He met with an accident at around 11.30 pm near Sneh International School. Passengers informed the matter to the police.
