Last year, 82 people died in 16,518 incidents of fire in Delhi. According to the Delhi Fire Service, 722 people were injured in the fire during this period. Most of the fires occurred in factories, while the rest occurred in commercial buildings and slums. Many of these factories and commercial establishments did not obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Fire Department for having safe fire prevention arrangements.
