Lutyen’s Delhi is going to be decorated with tulips for G20. In the coming time, about 1.26 lakh tulips of yellow, white, orange, purple, blue, pink and red colors will be planted on the roads of this area. Satish Upadhyay told that keeping in mind the beauty of the New Delhi area and hosting the G20, the Horticulture Department of NDMC is going to plant more than one lakh tulips. The presidency of the G20 will be a landmark moment in its history. To make it a great event, NDMC is preparing at every level from improving roads and footpaths to fixing the lighting system. In this episode, Lutyen’s Delhi will be decorated with tulip flowers. According to Satish Upadhyay, there is also a big challenge with tulip bulbs. It requires minimum 5 degree temperature for 15 days to germinate after breaking dormancy. For this, NDMC procured pre-treated and pre-programmed flowers which would be safe in erratic weather conditions. Upadhyay says that the number of tulips has been increased to 1.26 lakh.

Apart from tulips, NDMC will plant many varieties of flowers along the roads. These include Petunia, Salvia, Cenneria, Dimaphotica, Antirrhinum, Papi, Verbena, Dianthus Hollyhock, Nasturtium, Bila, Calumdella, Daisy, Metrocaria, Coreopsis, Lainum and many more.

Council is taking steps for beauty
Along with making Lutyen’s Delhi beautiful, it is also making people aware about it. For this reason, Flower Festival and Tulip Festival will be organized. At the same time, special selfie points will be made at Connaught Place, Ranjit Singh Pul, Barakhamba Road, Talkatora Garden, 11 Murti, Mandi House Goal, RML Goal, Windsor Place Goal C Hexagon, Sunhari Bagh Goal, Tilak Marg and other places.

Satish Upadhyay told that earlier these flowers were seen in Rashtrapati Bhavan. Now they are being installed in the public areas of NDMC.
