Delhi International Arts Festival is being organized in the capital from 16 to 30 December. In this sequence, the film festival is being organized from December 19 to 22 in collaboration with Saksham Trust and Delhi International Arts Festival under the aegis of Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts located at Janpath. Films on different genres and themes are being screened in the art festival being organized on the theme of Where India Met India. The film festival is being moderated by Savita Oberoi. Whereas, the screening is being organized in the auditorium of Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts.

Keeping in view the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence on 20 December, the film ‘Gandhi’ directed by Richard Attenborough was also screened. This film gave an opportunity to the children and others to know about the different aspects of Mahatma Gandhi. Apart from this, another film ‘Kat Kat Kad Kaddu’ is a children’s film directed by Jayashree Kanal. The popular children’s movie in Hindi ‘Kat Kat Kad Kaddu’ has been recreated in such a way that a blind person gets a feel to fully understand and enjoy the movie.

Children of Jormal Periwal Memorial Senior Secondary School for the Blind were present at the screening of this film. Abhishek Chandra, a student present at the screening, said that it is a very inspirational film and it understands the needs and sensibilities of students like us. School Principal KJ Kurian said that the theme is beautiful and excellent for the children.

Two films will also be screened on December 21. The first film, Barfi, directed by Anurag Basu, will be screened at 10 am. At the same time, ‘Karmaati Kot’ directed by Ajay Karthik will be screened from 1 pm. Apart from this, ‘Halo’ directed by Santosh Sivan will be on 22nd December at 10 am and ‘Taare Zameen’ directed by Aamir Khan at 12.30 pm.
