Jailed Delhi government minister Satyendar Jain has withdrawn a petition filed in the court seeking contempt action against the Enforcement Directorate (ED). In this petition, Jain has accused the ED of leaking CCTV footage of his jail cell to the media.

Jain’s counsel told Special Judge Vikas Dhull that he would approach the appropriate forum for relief in the matter, following which the court allowed him to withdraw the plea. The petition alleged that despite giving an affidavit in the court, the ED leaked the CCTV footage of Jain, in which he is seen getting massaged inside Tihar Jail. During the bail hearing, the ED accused Jain of getting special facilities in jail.

Earlier on November 17, the court had refused bail to Jain and two others. Jain is accused of laundering money through four companies allegedly linked to him. The court had also recently dismissed Jain’s plea seeking special food for his religious beliefs.
