The gross negligence of the Kejriwal government and Environment Minister Gopal Rai towards their duties is being blamed for this situation.
The minister is accused of withholding the file for a month without issuing an order to this effect. In this regard, the Chief Secretary had sent the file to him. It has not been approved yet. Due to this negligence, Delhi’s air remained in the toxic category in November and December as well. Sources say that if proper steps were taken in this direction by the Kejriwal government in time, this situation could have been avoided to a great extent. As per the orders of the Supreme Court dated 04 and 06 November 2019 and the order of the Central Air Quality Commission (CAQM) dated 5 August this year, the Chief Secretary issued orders to the departments and agencies to take necessary steps to curb air pollution. was to be done.
