Voting is to be held for Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD Elections) today. A total of 1349 candidates are in the fray for all the 250 wards of MCD. More than 1.45 crore voters will exercise their franchise. The election is witnessing a triangular contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress. 1. How to check your name in voter list?
Before reaching the polling station, do check whether your name is in the voter list or not? There are many ways to check name in voter list. The easiest way is to go to the Election Commission’s website https://electoralsearch.in/. Here fill your personal details like name, father/husband name, age, gender, state, district, and constituency. After that search by filling captcha code. With this you will easily be able to check your name in the voter list.

Apart from this, you can also check your name in the list by downloading the ‘Nigam Chunav Delhi’ app from the Play Store. For this, first open the app. In this, click on the first option Voter’s Search. Here you can check your name by filling your name, father’s name, ward number and assembly constituency. Apart from this, you can also check your name in the voter list by voter ID number.

If the name is not found in the voter list by personal information, then you can also search by the identity card number of your voter ID card. For this, you have to search by filling your state with Voter ID card number. Complete details will come in front of you.

You can also check your name in the voter list through SMS. For this, you can send your voter ID card number to 9211728082 or through SMS to 1950. If your name is in the voter list, then you will get information about the booth including your name. On the other hand, if your name is not in the list, you will get the message ‘No Record Found’.

2. If you do not have a voter ID card, you can vote like this
You can vote even if you do not have a voter ID card. However, it is necessary to have your name in the voter list. If your name is in the voter list, then you will be able to cast your vote by showing any one of the identity cards given below.

3. If you are an employee of Central or State Government or working in PSUs and Public Limited Company, then voting can also be done on the basis of photo ID of the company.
4. PAN Card
5. Aadhaar Card
6. Passbook issued by post office and bank.
7. MNREGA Job Card.
8. Health Insurance Card issued by Ministry of Labour.
9. Pension card on which your photo is affixed and attested.
10. Smart card issued by National Population Register (NPR).
11. Official ID card issued by MPs/MLAs/MLCs.
12. Unique Disability ID (UDID) card issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
3. How to cast vote without voter slip?
If you have not received the voter slip yet, there is no need to worry. You can easily achieve this. Just your name should be there in the voter list. For this, you go to the website of the Election Commission https://electoralsearch.in/. By going here you can download your voter slip by entering your name and other information or voter ID card number.
4. How to know the location of polling booth?
With the help of Nagar Nigam Election App, you can also know the location of your polling booth. For this, click on Locate Polling Station in the app. Select your assembly constituency and ward here. After this the list of all the polling stations of the ward will appear. You can check the location of your booth by clicking on it and can easily reach there with the help of Google Map.
5. You can also know about your candidates
Even if you have not got the information about your candidates till now, you can know it in one click on your mobile. For this, you can get it with the help of Municipal Corporation Election App. For this click on Know You Candidate option. Select your assembly constituency and ward here. After this the list of all the candidates from your ward will appear.
