The chances of action against the members who created ruckus, sabotage and assault in the MCD House have increased. Actually, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has become active in this matter. After receiving the report of the MCD, he has summoned the Presiding Officer Satya Sharma to inform about the developments.

Due to this, it is expected that action will be taken against the members involved in the ruckus, sabotage and assault in the House. Otherwise, the Lt Governor would have fixed the date for the sitting of the House, as the MCD has requested him to only fix the date for the sitting of the House. Apart from this, the Presiding Officer has not yet written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor for action against any member.

According to sources, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena himself has called the presiding officer Satya Sharma for a meeting. It is being told that the Lt. Governor will take point-by-point information from him regarding the developments in the House, as the Lt. Governor had appointed him to administer oath to the newly elected and nominated councilors and conduct the election of the Mayor in the meeting of the House on January 6 last.

For this reason, the information given by him is most important and the Lieutenant Governor will take further action after talking to him. In fact, as soon as the process of taking the oath started, there was an uproar in the meeting and neither the councilors could be sworn in nor the mayor could be elected in the meeting of the house.

According to sources, the presiding officer had informed the lieutenant governor about the uproar in the meeting of the MCD House and on his instructions, the presiding officer adjourned the meeting till the next date. However, after January 6, he has not contacted the Lieutenant Governor by any means. Apart from this, he has so far given any report in writing in the matter of uproar, sabotage and fighting in the House.

The round of accusations continues

On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP have started a campaign of leveling allegations and counter-allegations against each other in the matter of commotion, vandalism and fighting in the MCD House meeting. Their leaders are taking to the streets accusing each other of violating the constitution. Apart from this, while holding the Lieutenant Governor responsible for this matter, the AAP leaders are accusing him of not following the rules. At the same time, BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor regarding the demand to suspend the AAP MLAs, holding them responsible for the developments in the House.

MCD had sent the report to LG

On the other hand, the MCD had sent the report to the Lieutenant Governor two days ago regarding the meeting of the House. Instead of demanding action in the matter of uproar, vandalism and fighting in the House, the MCD has only requested for the date of the meeting. However, the MCD has given point-wise details of the incident. For this reason, the Lieutenant Governor has summoned the Presiding Officer to discuss the whole matter.
