As soon as the MCD elections are over, the Aam Aadmi Party has given another blow to the Congress. On Friday, along with former Congress state vice-president Ali Mehndi, two councilors of the party have also joined the Aam Aadmi Party.

According to information, Mustafabad councilor Sabila Begum and Brajpuri councilor Nazia Khatoon have joined AAP along with Ali Mehndi. A total of nine councilors of Congress had won in the MCD elections, after two of these nine councilors joined AAP, now only seven councilors of Congress are left.

Please tell that the results of MCD came on December 7 only. Of the nine seats won by the Congress, seven are from Muslim-majority areas. Unlike the assembly elections, the Muslim voters of Delhi could not rally with the AAP in the MCD elections. Experts see the main reason for this in the soft Hindutva of Chief Minister Kejriwal. The Muslim community feels that Kejriwal has not expressed his involvement with the issues which are in their favor. During the election campaign in these areas, many such videos were made viral, in which he was shown advocating Hindutva. Apart from this, after the riots in the year 2020 in the North-East, Muslims were very angry with the attitude of the Aam Aadmi Party.

It was only after the announcement of the elections that voices against the Aam Aadmi Party were raised in the Muslim-majority seats. The party’s stand on the Markaz case was being talked about during Kovid on social media. In several viral videos, Kejriwal was seen discussing separately the cases of Kovid who came to Markaz. These videos went viral. Apart from this, the silence of the party at the time of CAA-NRC was also cashed a lot.

Because of all these issues Muslim voters did not vote for AAP. Of the nine Congress seats, except Aya Nagar and Nihal Vihar ward, all other wards are Brijpuri, Mustafabad, Kabir Nagar, Shastri Park, Chauhan Bangar, Zakir Nagar and Abul Fazal Enclave Muslim dominated areas. Experts say that to stop the BJP from coming to power, the Muslim voters have only AAP or Congress option. Due to these reasons, Muslims elected Congress on these seven seats.
