District Deputy Commissioner of Police R Satyasundaram said that on November 27, a woman resident of Farsh Bazar had given a complaint of blackmailing. The victim told that a few days back she had received a friendship request from Anshika Sharma 188 Instagram ID. After this the victim started chatting with him. It is alleged that one day the accused told her that he would make her obscene photos and videos viral if she wanted to avoid defamation, then she would have to have a relationship with him. If this does not happen, apart from defaming him, he will also pour acid on him.

On the complaint of the victim, the police registered a case and started investigation. The team of station in-charge ACP Sanjay Kumar, SI Shweta and others investigated the Instagram ID. The police came to know that the Instagram ID from which the victim was threatened was created by one Aman Yadav. The accused was staying at Sanatan Dharma Mandir, Subhash Nagar, West Delhi. Immediately the team of SI Shweta and others raided and arrested the accused.

The accused said that he had created an ID on Instagram about a year and a half ago. Girls were his target. He used to blackmail the girls after chatting for a few days. Used to tamper with the photos of girls and make them obscene. Many girls had met him for fear of defamation.
