This has doubled the happiness of the tourists who have reached the mountains to welcome the new year. After fresh snowfall, tourists enjoyed a lot in Manali, Solanganala, Narkanda, Dalhousie. The process of cold winds intensified in Delhi as well.

Lakhs of tourists from all over the country have reached Himachal two days back. All the hotels are full. Due to this the faces of the businessmen have also blossomed. For the convenience of tourists, hotels, restaurants and eateries will remain open 24 hours till January 2. Special arrangements have been made for DJ-dance in the hotels for the tourists. All hotels of Tourism Corporation are booked in Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. There is advance booking in private hotels. In view of the crowd, the government has given instructions to prevent corona infection.

Tourists’ fun at Patnitop
Tourists reached Natthatop via Patnitop and had a lot of fun on the white sheet of snow. Nearly half a foot of snow has fallen in Nattatop, while Patnitop has also received its first snow of the season. Due to this, the cedars of Patnitop were also painted in a white sheet.

The minimum temperature in the capital reached 10.7 degree Celsius in double digits after 15 days. However, according to the Meteorological Department, the mercury will drop by three to five degrees in the new year.

400 tourists trapped in Atal tunnel were evacuated
Around 400 tourist vehicles were evacuated from the Atal Tunnel amid heavy snowfall. Tourists faced problems as vehicles skidded due to accumulation of snow on the road. After the fresh snowfall, the movement of vehicles has been stopped through the Atal tunnel. Traffic remained closed between Manali to Lahaul on Friday. About 45 cm of snow has fallen in the south and north portals of Atal Tunnel Rohtang.

In most areas of North India, including the national capital Delhi, parts of Punjab and Haryana, there was softness in the sun on Friday, but the mercury rose slightly. Punjab’s Mohali recorded 11.1, Muktsar 10, Jalandhar 10.8 and Ludhiana recorded a minimum temperature of 8.4 degrees Celsius. Bathinda and Amritsar recorded minimum temperatures of 5 and 6.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.

According to meteorologists, there is relief from the cold for the time being due to the Western Disturbance. But once the effect of Western Disturbance is over, from the beginning of the new year, cold wave will increase in most areas of North India including Delhi.
